Under the Advanced Course “Strategies for citizen engagement in science communication”, organized by the Interuniversity Centre for History of Science and Technology (CIUHCT) and Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes (cE3c), both at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon, the students were challenged to develop a dissemination project to engage young adults with science.
This course was supported by NEWSERA, through the partner FCiências.ID, and NEWSERA will also support the development of one project selected, by the students, among those presented at the end of the course.
The project to be developed is a photography contest – NaturGramPt – for young people aged 18 to 25 years, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of biodiversity.
Through Instagram (@NaturGramPt), the participants in NaturGramPt are invited to post their best pictures of certain species, always keeping in mind the preservation of their habitats. Each month from July to December 2022, the jury will select the three best pictures and the winners will receive a prize. At the end of the contest, there will be a prize for the best photography of the entire contest.

The NaturGramPT project is being developed by a group of students who attended the course, including Raquel Mendes from cE3c and Artur Saraiva from ISA, and is being supervised by Inês Navalhas and Cristina Luís, both from the NEWSERA Portuguese team.
If you are Portuguese or live in Portugal and have between 18 and 25 years old, participate and improve your knowledge about the Portuguese biodiversity!
