The third round of the NEWSERA #CitSciComm Labs is coming up! This round will be the final one in the series of the NEWSERA Labs on citizen science communication.
The round of Labs will be held in parallel in Italy, Portugal and Spain. NEWSERA Pilots will meet for a 1-day session, face to face, from 9.30 AM to 5 PM.
Projects in Portugal will kickstart Round 3 with the first session, on October 20th in Lisbon. The Italian group will follow on October 21st, with a session in Bolonga. The last session will be held in Spain on November 3rd, in Barcellona.
Each national session will be divided into 3 sections:
- Section 1: The NEWSERA pilots will showcase their best practices, as well as strengths and weaknesses, barriers and needs, resources needs, and sustainability. They will share their main outputs, outcomes and impact.
- Section 2: This part of the Lab will be dedicated to drafting the NEWSERA Communication Blueprints, guidelines for more effective science communication strategies in citizen science projects. Projects will work with with representatives from quadruple-helix stakeholders and science communicators to find a common ground on recommendations on how to tackle the barriers found. They will work on issues such as: How can we strengthen the links with each stakeholder group? How can we overcome barriers and build bridges? Which policies or institutional structures should we support (or even try to change) to increase the work of CS projects with each stakeholder group?
- Section 3: The last section of the Lab will be dedicated to informal networking among participants.
The Lab will be open only to NEWSERA Pilot projects.
