Data and Science Journalists Lab TRACK 1 – Spain

The first track of the Data and Science Journalists Lab in Spain will start on July 13, with a workshop held online.
The event is open to all citizen science projects based in Spain: register using the form below.

The workshop will see the participation of data and science journalists and citizen science practitioners. They will work together to explore how the data collected by citizen science projects can be transformed into media stories.
First, journalists will be guided to understand some of the basic characteristics and values of the citizen science projects involved. Then, the different projects will be analysed with regard to the 3 components of newsmaking: news, data and data visualizations.

This event will be held in Spanish.

El primer track del Lab de Periodismo científico y de datos en España comenzará el 13 de julio con un taller celebrado online. El evento está abierto a todos los proyectos de ciencia ciudadana con sede en España y personas interesadas en el tema: inscríbete a través del siguiente formulario.

En el taller participarán periodistas de datos y profesionales de la ciencia ciudadana. Trabajarán juntos para explorar cómo los datos recogidos por los proyectos de ciencia ciudadana pueden transformarse en historias para los medios de comunicación. Se analizarán los 3 componentes de la elaboración de artículos: noticias, datos y visualizaciones de datos.
